Jerome Buenviaje
Dojo Cho/ Head Instructor
Jerome Buenviaje Sensei serves as both the Dojo Cho of Takemusu Aikido New Mexico (TANM) and the head instructor of Balintawak Arnis New Mexico (BANM). His leadership embodies the spirit of Sogo Budo—a comprehensive martial way—by offering students the chance to study two distinct yet complementary martial traditions under one roof.
As Dojo Cho and Sensei of Takemusu Aikido New Mexico, he teaches traditional Iwama Aikido. A 6th Dan instructor, Sensei is recognized for his precise technique and supportive teaching style, guiding students of all levels in both empty‑hand and weapons practice. He is a student of Patricia Hendricks Shihan of Aikido of San Leandro. He also trains in Iwama, Japan with Hitohira Saito Soke and Yasuhiro Saito Sensei of Iwama Shin Shin Aiki Shuren Kai. His diverse training ensures that his students receive instruction rooted in authentic lineage and enriched by direct experience with the art’s homeland.
In addition, Buenviaje Sensei is a Full Qualified Instructor (FQI), Completion of the Art (COA) instructor in Cuentada Balintawak Arnis, a Filipino Martial Art (FMA) specializing in close‑quarters stick fighting, timing, and reflex development. Through Balintawak Arnis, students gain exposure to a dynamic and highly practical system that sharpens awareness, coordination, and adaptability.

Pascal Fromentin
Pascal Fromentin is a Yondan, 4th degree black belt, in Aikido bringing decades of dedicated practice and teaching experience to the dojo. In addition to his Aikido training, Pascal actively cross‑trains in Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu (BJJ). Off the mat, Pascal is considered to be a renowned message therapist
Melanie Buenviaje
Melanie Buenviaje is a Sandan, 3rd degree black belt, in Aikido and a dedicated member of the dojo’s teaching team. She assists in leading children’s classes, where her supportive and patient approach helps young students build confidence, discipline, and strong foundations in Aikido.
Jude Buenviaje
Jude Buenviaje is ranked Full Qualified Instructor (FQI), Completion of thr Art (COA) under the Cuentada Balintawak Arnis system studying under the direct tutelage of Grand Master Bobby Taboada, one of the foremost authorities in Balintawak Arnis worldwide, as well as Jerome Buenviaje Sensei, head instructor of Balintawak Arnis New Mexico. In addition to his role in the dojo, Jude also leads and teaches an Arnis class at his high school, sharing his knowledge with younger students .
